Static pipe bursting using vitrified clay jacking pipes
The city of Phoenix, Arizona, recently undertook a large-scale sanitary sewer static pipe bursting programme utilizing vitrified clay (VCP) jacking pipe as the replacement pipe material. The total project consisted of upsizing of nearly 1.5 km of Ø 300 mm and Ø 380 mm pipes at 3 - 6 m depth within major streets with the usual multitude of utilities. TT Technologies provided the GRUNDOBURST 2500G and technical instruction during the design and construction phases. This project represents one of the most significant uses of the static pipe bursting method with new replacement VCP jacking pipe.
